. . .A P H R O D I T E. . .
crying out for 'coup de grace'
No one quite understands the purpose of life, we are all along for a ride going who knows where. Perhaps we are hurtling through space about to collide into another larger rock and nobody knows because life on this planet is extremely inferior to that of other beings in this universe. We live blissfully unaware of what could be a millisecond away; death, poverty, famine. We could be a figment of imagination, nothing more than a 5 minute dream made up by a few neurons in some other inferior beings head. We could be the play things of another species too, one to the gods being played and danced along the earth and still; blissfully unaware how things are. We ignore the strings, ignore the signs all around us, falling leafs we blame on cold weather but really the stomping of the creators feet or bad mood of the dreamer blissfully asleep; the beginning of our planet being shaken and crushed by an oncoming asteroid. It’s all unknown at this point to the equine genus and no one really wants to know the truth so we ignore it.
Dancing on the edge of a breeze’s tail, crème and white bi-colored tassels fell blissfully upon the mare’s boa that was held high and proud; still thin from previous lack of nutrition but not resembling the massless skeleton’s frame she was just a month ago. Heavens above were full of a blue sea, waves of white wound through the blue blanket, painted on as if an artist’s greatest work and it was beautiful all the same; however if you were to look up all you would see is threads the tangled knuckles, twists and turns of the canopy of the swamp’s towers that surrounded her now. Hefty trunks of the towers provided a large solid foundation, burying themselves into the muck just to arise ten feet away to trip any dazed trespassers, the first line of defense in this home that was no more than a waste land. Raising out of the muck was the thick, heavy fog leaving a humid and unwelcomed touch of pasted pelt, plastering the canvases to the canvas of whatever it could reach including the mare now approaching the center of the terrain; this was the second defense. Twisted branches prevented the reveal of foliage losing its green luster, the dense trees protected the crunch of branches and foliage from being audible to anyone near and listening. As she advanced, the forest thinned out, the muck began to solidify and the ground was no longer spotted with rays of light, but rather painted and full of life from the sun’s heat. Her surroundings were no longer silent with the exception of the scurry of small paws digging up worms or in a rush to find shelter. Here there were bird’s songs being sung, the flutter of their wings and quick pluck of insects from the earth’s surface, trickling of water seeping its way into the dry earth attempting to make the solid ground muck but failing at every attempt. Here there was life, though it was in the center of a world of darkness and unknowing it strived and survived. Aqua optics darted around the scenery that now surrounded her, a huge pool of dark water, frothing with some type of foam and spitting out mounds of fog… more fog. One would expect this water to be of a clear color with a hint of blue but instead it was black. Bubbles formed from out of nowhere just to pop and spray its essence to the surrounding pool. There was no rhyme or reason for the acts of this water, clearly marking it a dangerous monument in her new sheltering land.
Nares flared, the smell of rot and decay filled her lungs what kind of creature would live here willingly? she drew her head back and shook it in disgust letting out a sharp short cry to go along. She ignored the obvious answer to her question and instead lowered her mug to the surface of the black mysterious pool, dipping the tip of her dagger in it curiously then removing it. As she pooled her ivory dagger out away from the dark muck water she expected the blackness to carry over to her hoof, to be able to watch it drip drop back into the pool however it was clear and the same as any other form of water. This provoked more thought and wonder into the simple pool of water, however a growing thirst bellowed from within the now semi-healthy looking mare and she returned her dagger to the ground and again lowered her mug to the water. She paused before making contact with the fluid now steaming in front of her, it resembled that of a witches brew and she was not sure what would happen to her if she drank it. These ideas of death pulled her mug away and away from the cool liquid and to the sounds her twin towers heard from behind her, sheltered from the tall towering trees. Someone was watching; she began to wonder how welcomed she actually was in his land. Twin towers pinned to her skull, ribs shifted as she turned her frame towards the sounds, her pelt rippling over the curved bone, expanding and then with a strong force shrinking back as the mare let out a warning huff to whomever was watching her.

The snow began melting from the ground, the weather much warmer making the swamp unbearable at times. The beast got flustered at times thanks to the unbearable heat, but he loved the mushy swamp and at times it reminded him of his foal hood. With the annoucement of spring came that he was to be a father soon. A wicked grin made its way to his pink lips, he had what he wanted as long as he could remember. He would have a spawn with Lashiel and it would be born any day now. Syn's mission for today was simple, he would seek out the mare he had saved and see how she was doing. She was regaining her strength and with it she did not need him all the time. Tribe followed suit his pelt changing back the color it was all except for winter, light grey had been his color to blend into the snow and the sandy red returning. The little fox's gold orbs searched for the mare knowing that she did not care for him, but that made it all the more entertaining when he chirped. Syn shook his skull as the little fox looked excited for their journey today.
Aph had got away pretty easily considering he had been so focused on finding lashiel. He was excited to have a child that would enter the world soon enough, carry his genes be perfect and with Lashiel as its mother it could very possibly be unstoppable if it truly wanted to be that way. Syndicate still had yet to tell Aphrodite what he wanted from her for his 'knightly' duty. A savior does not come without a price and life is not and will never be truly free if you rely on someone. Crimson daggers dug into the swampy lands as he pushed forwards the sound of squishing below his daggers. A called was sent forth into the air, it seems she wants to talk... to someone. Maybe not with Syn himself but he was on his way to find her anyways. He paused for a moment as he heard a warning huff enter the air around them and he chuckled as he pushed through the tree line. He studied her body language knowing she was on edge still not entirely happy here and he figured she probably would never be, Syn just refused to let her go.
He needed her, well her womb, but he had in the same sense grew accustom to her. The fog was beginning to rise as if it was on cue. "Well Hello Aphrodite." He said with a grin as he watched her. The minx was beginning to look less like a skeleton and more like a mare. Sky blue banner flickered against his multi-colored pelt. He was getting older now, just turning four no longer a child. Syn was not old, but he was not a youngling either. Tawny brown orbs studied the minx for another moment, waiting for her to speak. The beast was in a good mood today and he was not sure it could be broken. A good mood was very limited for the beast he was just not built that way. His grin remained to show her he was in a good mood. He snorted lightly as his eyes moved down to Tribe for a moment he seemed chipper as well. The thought of spring and his spawn was enough to send his chipper up again. The stallion knew there was only one other thing that could help top off his happiness, but he was not looking for it to happen quite yet.

crying out for 'coup de grace'
Matted feathers clung to the top of the mare's daggers, the muck from the swamp pasted it down and was unrelentingly holding it. It was dried on her and crusting off in flakes on the surface of her hooves, giving the illusion that they were shedding much like the shell of a turtle, it disgusted her. However, the mare was composed and only let the grief and distress that the swamp put on her show on her mug, her kissers crooked in a half frown half sarcastic smirk. Her pelt was white, blotched with grey's varying from dark to light, and her tassels were that of blacks, greys at the base but mostly of pure white at the length. Her aqua orbs scanned the daunting terrain, threatening her temper since she came to the realization she was healthy enough to leave here, however she never has because of the debt she owed. She had been living here without the conformation or awareness of the heiress that reigns over this land, instead she had been alone traveling to the neighboring territories, regaining her strength and growing out of her skeletal form. Instead of protrusions her canvas was padded and her curved ribs were mostly smooth, with a bump and very shallow valley here and there. Her matted coat was silk, her banner and flag full and vibrant and now in the spring’s sun and heat, she radiated strength and power that royalty does. She was not proud of what she had done in her past, but she had accepted it, she was working through what Sinister had submitted her to, and his words of a baron womb haunted her still; after all, a mare was born to have a princess or prince of her own but she doubted this would ever be possible.
Nightmares and flashbacks will always haunt the mare, she will ever be untrusting of the vice gender however, for this particular stallion, Syn, there would be some trust. Her orbs guided over the trees on the horizon, awaiting for the one she called to advance outwards of the tall towering trees. She had called for Lady Lashiel but when a figure was visible, that was not whom was approaching her. Instead she found herself yet again in the presence of Syndicate, her body tensed just a little and she straightened her frame, tossing her whipcords and they strung her hocks. A smirk played her mug, and it did his as well he must be in a chipper mood, Well Hello Aphrodite a peculiar word choice for the brute, but then again he isn’t as young as he was when they first met, he’s matured, very nicely. And hello to you Syn! her tones chipper she arched her boa and took a few strides towards him, there was something different about the way he carried himself, not just his tone... what has he been up to? Her smirk parted and his scent filled her lungs, a chill went down her back, it is wonderful to see you, what has you in such a good mood? she tilted her head, and figured it was about time that he had come to find her, being she owed him something even if she wasn't sure quite what it was, she would be figuring out soon.

The summer weather was much more enjoyable then the cold weather that was known all too well with the winter months. Snow was a burden and a terrible type of weather that no one should truly enjoy. The unique stag despised the white thick water that formed and refused to leave the ground for months on end, he was glad to see it go and even more so it would be a while before it returned to the realm.
Tawny brown orbs studied the two toned mare. He remained in a good mood and had a feeling it would not be lost easily. Syn realized when he got what he wanted her was much more... tolerable for those that had to deal with him. He shifted his weight slightly, as she moved towards him. Narrowing the personal space that he had left her, not that he had to but he had somewhat grown accustom to it. The space between them allowed him to control himself, which as he grew older had become a little more difficult. Syn managed though he found though his hormones raged he was controlled. He craved control and in himself he was able to accomplish such an act . The two toned minx's scent flowed through his nostrils he took in her scent. Memorizing it. Enjoying it. His excitement placed an unknown feeling of joy. The feeling was foreign in his mind and he wasn't sure how to express it. The cremello stag shook his dome to control his body.
She spoke and it reminded him of his feelings. He paused unsure if how exactly he should answer her question. To tell the truth and wonder how she would view him or not. He contemplated them both equally, taking a moment to weigh out his options. "Do you really want to know?" He joked. WHAT? is this feeling, joking? who jokes? Not Syn. The stallions demeanor had always been quite cold. "Well I am going to be a father." his grin widened even more at the thought. His spawn would torment the world much like he had and planned to continue to do. The oddly colored bronc felt he would be a good father. Not even seeing his upcoming child yet made him chipper. Aph would be crazy to reject his wish from her. The stallion knew the small minx would have a hard time finding one like them that truly cared. She had to accept his wish she owed him. The stag knew she desired a change of scenery.
Although the thought of aph no longer at his side was a weird feeling for the stag one he was not willing to admit it just yet. He feared it would spark weakness and it would be his down fall. Syn also wondered if his own children would be a weakness instead of a strength that he hoped it would be. A snort left his nostrils then as his brain went in a million different directions. "That and theres no more, damn snow." He informed her then as it clicked in his mind. "Have you missed me?" He questioned then knowing he had not been the best host, but his mind had been else where. Tribe did however follow her and would return to let him know how she was. His orbs ventured down to the little fox who was giving him a WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?? Type of look. He shook his dome and the fox quickly replaced his attention.
Sky blue with orange streak banner moved swiftly against his rump then. His skull moving then pressing against his chest for a moment before returning back to a slightly relaxed position. The stag watched her then unsure what she would say, how she would react. A small part of him wanted her to be jealous that someone else carried her spawn. That way it would push her to agree, but then again he did not know. He wished to keep her close either way she decided to feel about the situation.

crying out for 'coup de grace'
Carefree, this is how the mare was before the disaster. She made friends with any and every one. Now, as her health returns, at least to this one soul and his companion the mare is able to feel empathy; for the first time in years. Her heart and soul was glad that he had returned to her side even if he was not the one she called for, the fact that he came anyways… that shows he actually wanted to be there with her. Reasoning why was beside the point right now, the smile that played upon her mug now after his prolonged visit and the echoing of his words, that was relief and happiness that someone could still actually care. Her heart did beat a little faster at the sounds of his tones, anticipating the next syllable to escape his kissers, twin-peaks that were pinned down, now were on end fully to his attention and as he spoke, it seemed the scenery around her changed. The muck that had been so disgusting before, was in fact just mud, it was not sludge from rotting decaying bodies, and the stench well… no one could help that, swamps naturally stank. Do you really want to know? her attention leaned in more, closing what room there was, she was now almost touching him. Well I am going to be a father. the mare was taken aback by this news, and she wasn’t quite sure why. Her outward appearance drew back just a little, her towers swiveled in confused fashion as her orbs fallowed over the stallion and then down to the little creature, whom at this point, she had grown accustomed to. Nevertheless, the mare was happy for him, and she placed an awkward smile on her mug, hiding the hint of sadness that the remembrance of that corner of life brought to her. She brought her slumped body back to attention after just a few seconds while she gathered herself. Her smile now genuine she touched her nairs to his, and spoke That is wonderful news, Syn! You will make a fine father. the hint of sadness dripped from her words though she tried to hold them back, she removed her nairs and looked at the tall crème stallion, his banner waving, the picture of pride. She was so happy and excited for him, at the same time it left a feeling of incompleteness within her.
She examined the stallion, he was beaming and was happier than she had ever seen him, and this made her wonder if Lachel had made a mate out of the stag and if she had, Aph had better keep her distance from her friend. His kissers parted again and he emitted more happy tones, her smile widened, it was so good to see him happy, though it was out of character, everyone deserved to be happy. Except for Aph herself. That and theres no more, damn snow. She emitted a knicker of relief when he said that, she had ignored the changing months and took into full appreciation that the snow and cold was gone, her frame could hardly stand it and she had spent most of the coldest days hidden away to where not even the little fox could trace her. Out of nowhere he spoke again Have you missed me? She was completely off guard and her heart raced even more, she would have blushed if you could see her skin beneath her sleek pelt. Yes! She screamed in her head, her orbs filled with the truth she kept quiet about, and she tilted her cranium and looked up at the blue stag, sky blue tassels waiving a path through the air cutting a path. I suppose I have missed you her words fell off, unfinished as she would not speak any more about the brute whom she was unsure of his status; she didn’t want to be the root of any sort of trouble. She had missed him, a great deal, and not just his companionship, but everything, his scent, warmth, the way he was… She shook her crown and shifted her weight, her orbs filled with great hope.

Aph almost touched him as he asked did she really want to know his news. When he spoke however she pulled back, orbs followed trying to read her body language to the best of his ability. The lack of one on one contact for him made things a little bit more difficult. He did note it made her a little cautious, but she seemed to perk back up after a moment or so. Aph's nose touched his and he felt odd feelings rush through his body and he fought harder to control himself around the now well mare. She spoke a bit of sorrow laced within the other wise hopeful, joyful tones. He shifted as she pulled away from him then. The feeling inside of him burned, but he tried his damnedest to keep them under control. He had never really spoken with the mare about any plans for a future, but then again at the time he had only wanted a child from the mare. When she would be well enough to bare one that was. He did not want her to leave though, he found that in an odd way he enjoyed her company. Syn knew he was not truly capable of what many referred to as ... love. He knew then that he was however capable of something more then just lust, at least where Aph was concerned. The minx's poor state at the moment they met caused the stallion to place his thoughts in multiple places instead of just the one. I suppose I have missed you. She said leaving them as if she had more to say, but kept them to herself, very curious he thought. Tawny brown visionaries studied her for another moment then allowing his brain to think of the best way to approach this ever confused stag. The stag shifted his weight once more working his way up to the best way to talk to her. "Suppose?" He said with a grin on his face. "Now on a more serious note my dear Aphrodite." He said his happy tones turning a bit more serious.
"Have you enjoyed your life since that day?" He asked her then she would know what he meant by that day. The oddly colored bronc paused a moment before continuing on, "Would you like to stay with me forever?" He questioned his words leaving a bit of hope for the future. Syn figured he would try to work his way around asking her instead of simply telling her what he had originally wanted from her. He had a child coming and at the moment there truly was no need to rush her, but he did believe another young one would be a good addition, but he fought the thought from his crazed mind. He did not want to push her and so much at one time, might not be good for someone just getting back to normal. His cranium shifted moving to touch her lightly for a moment, before pulling away again. His skin felt like a spark of electricity passed through him, but once more he fought with himself. He knew little about her past and how they did things where she was from, he tried to not bring it up or question it too much because it seemed like the root of all her problems. His eyes studied her two toned frame for a moment longer trying to get a feel of how she was going to react. The stag had never really asked someone something and truly was waiting on the answer. The child from lashiel would be perfect, but it wasn't hard to convince her to have one as he had thought it would have. He would always have a part of the mare to call his own. He snorted then and looked down at Tribe as his head turned in disbelieve at syn's actions.

crying out for 'coup de grace'
Distracted, the mare stared at her friend, her orbs appeared to be looking at him, but they were in a trans. Her past flashing on her mind's windows and her breathing becoming heavier, the crooked dark face of Sinister flashed in front of where Syn's should be. Her orbs pinned back and entire body tensed up, it was happening again, with the exception of her being in Sinister's position... lost and afraid needing shelter to help regain since of purpose. The only difference was, she was Aphrodite, she wasn't a liar, she would not betray her friends... would she? She did kill her parents, she killed her entire herd. She wore her mother and father's guts stained deep below the surface of her pelt, engrained forever onto her skin, burnt there like a tattoo you would get on a party night. She didn't want the reminder, but even without it, she could never forget; therefor she could never trust herself or anyone else. These feelings that came with Syn, they must be a lie, she held herself steady as she was knocked breathless with the realization that she would always end up in the wrong, and she didn't want Syn to ever be subjected to it.
Warm summer breezes danced with her tassels, her scent intertwined with Syn's sending feelings of happiness through her and then doubt, and then disgust for herself. She could never love, should never love, not even in a friendship. Suppose? his tones spoke slightly amused with her word choice, but he left nothing to guess, her mind still off wondering around, she jumped slightly when he began to speak again, smiling realizing that he was not a threat, just talking, no he would never be a threat. Now on a more serious note my dear Aphrodite. Oh god, dear? He must be getting attached, her heart skipped a beat and her breathing slowed, her mug looking up onto the crem pelt and his orbs that captivated her attention Have you enjoyed your life since that day? she nodded, for her life had been so much better, being left for dead was better than being subjected to forced unsuccessful breeding's day in and day out, being kicked bitten and talked down to... anything was better than that. My life before, you she paused hoping he didn't take that too personally or... affectionate even if she did mean it that way, she could never pledge herself to anyone. Not knowing what she was capable of. I know I owe you an explanation, after all you've saved my life. and put yours at risk, But let's just say... she paused again and then heard his tones once more, her jaw hung open at his words and her heart exploded, her mind overwhelmed and her smile disappeared Would you like to stay with me forever? What does he mean forever? What does the word even mean? Forever. Pledge your life away. This could mean he wanted a foal, or more, he would expect favors, though he already expected just one... unless that was the favor then she would be stuck here forever, at least until it was a successful breeding... but who knows how long that could take... a warm touch took her out of her own head, she looked at him with a heavy heart, if she accepted she would end up inevitably hurting him and everyone else here. Then again she couldn't live as a nomad her entire life never resting always on the run. A longing look gazed at the stallion, she let out a low whinny and parted her kissers turning her head to the side and as she spoke, her tones were riddled with feelings of doubt, not in him but himself. All she could bring herself to mutter out, was a low, almost unrecognizable oh Syndicate

Eyes narrowed as she spoke, he knew the outcome was coming and it was not what he wanted to hear. He did not do well when he was told no, Syn always got what he wanted if he set his mind to it. sky blue banner flickered back and forth and the small fox shook his dome, he could feel it coming as well. A light grunt left his mug then as he tried his best to pull his feelings from his body or at least for her. The stag knew better then to care. He shifted his weight as she spoke. My life before, you. She stopped and he stood waiting then. I know I owe you an explanation, after all you've saved my life. and put yours at risk, But let's just say... she managed before she stopped once more. Her mouth hung open at his question. Tribe moved then for the safety of everyone around he pushed his skull against syn's leg pushing at him. Syn looked down and backed away. Tribe shifted then and pushed him a little farther back.
The stag obeyed and managed to keep his composure his face never changing. She turned her head and barely managed to say his name. "fine." He said then, "leave then, if you wish." the words no longer chipper, they lacked emotion. He would not beg anyone it was beneath him. He grunted then his eyes narrowed once more. "I wont beg you I'm better then that, your free." His words cold and distant as he backed away again from her, this time on his own and Tribe shook his skull and chipped at him. The little fox knew Syn far too well for when he backed away there was very little to calm him. He was still excited for his young but no longer chipper to share the news. He looked down at tribe for a moment. The way the young stag viewed it he was alone once more.
He would have his child until it was grown but it would move on then. He had wished then that he had a sibling, but he did not wish for one on the same note. Tribe shifted and looked at the mare once before moving behind his master. He did not want syn to regret anything and while he could not control the words that left his maw he could try and keep him calm and Syn was the errie type of cold. He would have helped her anyway possible, but now it seemed he did not care. He moved closer to her then so close he knew that she could feel the heat of his words and the seriousness in his eyes, "but unwilling to forget the past and attempt to move on places a handicap on you. not driven by anyone else but yourself. No matter what you did in your past i would have over looked it." He told her then. His orbs burning into her azure ones for a moment longer before pulling away.
He moved past her then, his head swimming placing everything he had said. His heart lost somewhere inside of him, hidden the best anyone could ever hide one. Syn needed to clear his mind he couldnt do it here either. Tribe stayed behind to watch the minx for a moment as his owner faded from the clearing and with the fog. He turned his dome to the side and his ears lowered as his golden orbs studied her for a second before shifting his weight and following syn through the fog. Syn would not let her walk away from him so even though he told her she could leave he would be the one to go. His teeth grinded together for a moment just as Tribe pushed through the fog and came into view. The stag knew better then to care and it got him this.

crying out for 'coup de grace'
She felt like a fool, an idiot. Embarrassed for herself and the brute for having this conversation, a voice echoed in her head who do you think you are, bitch? It was the demon from her past. Her orbs widened qua visionaries stared at the blades below her, how did he find her? Where was he and why was Syn acting like he couldn’t hear the dark taunting tones? worthless, isn’t that what I always told you? Vulnerable piece of garbage. Shouldn’t have left the place I threw you after I fucked you for the last time. Now her orbs were wide opened, her orbs as if in a trance beamed a hole in the ground and she could not remove her eyesight from it, staring beyond, envisioning flashbacks of the last encounter. Her crown shook a low dark growl came from deep in her boa, her mug had the look of hate smeared all over it, unmistakable hate and anger. Breathing heavily the mare turned her attention to her closest companion whom was looking at her and backing away, the looks of anger and hate were erased she was confused until she remembered the last words she muttered. fine, leave if you wish. he continued to back away from her, with assistance from his small pet I wont beg you I'm better then that, your free. Now concern filled her orbs as she felt the warmth from the stallion, it comforted her until the point the dark voice continued talking oh you whore, those feelings are so wrong. I’m going to hunt you down and prove to you, my heat is the same as his to you. she stomped her dagger and backed away from the stallion. Sinister’s voice was right, she was filthy, wasn’t worth anything. This was the first being to have communication with her after being held captive, and he was asking her to stay. Foolish.
but unwilling to forget the past and attempt to move on places a handicap on you. not driven by anyone else but yourself. No matter what you did in your past i would have over looked it. that couldn’t be true, why would she want to hear these things? Why would she torture herself with what he was even currently telling her? Why would anyone think so lowly of themselves? They wouldn’t. This was real and she was under attack and at this point it was clear that Syn, nor his little pet, nor anyone would ever understand what she was going through. To them it was fake, it wasn’t real and she was a psychopath. But if she was the only one who took these warnings as a warning to not get close to anyone else then so be it. At least she would continue to be the only one hurt by what she had done. Trust that she had foolishly given to a former lover, her last lover, and her only lover, her only long term friend. She watched the brute walk past her, and expected his burrowing orbs to be fallowed with more words but instead he left. Fog fallowing him whole, without looking back he was gone. He left her their alone. And she stood dumbfounded at what just happened.
