The mare looked up at the horizon, she could see the glimmer of light on the edge of the world, the light was just about spill onto the earth’s surface and bring forth a new day. It would be just another in a long line of days filled with searching for the mare known as Lumi, she could not even begin to explain how many days she had spent searching now, usually at night as she found movements swifter and less disturbed at night. However on a few occasions when she had spoken to others to ask questions or directions it was generally at this time of day before the heat came. She noticed a strange shimmer ahead of her path, she recognised it as the reflection of the light on a body of water, the gold shining back up into the air and catching her eye. She smacked her mouth together a few times, she realised that it was dry and that she was in need of water. She quickened her pace moving forward in a trot, limbs that appeared too long for the rest of her, body held above them a pale creamy colour that appeared to be smoked darker in places with multiple markings including spots and swirls, the swirls appeared to emit their own light and glowed ethereally upon her silken coat. She slowed as she reached the large lake, she noticed that it was much larger than it first appeared and it would seem she had arrive at one end, it stretched up further than she could tell at this moment. She lowered her neck to the surface of the cool blue liquid and began to drink, her eyes closed in pleasure as the water ran down her throat and quenched the thirst that lay deep inside her. She raised her head again after a moment to look around her, just to check nothing was happening, droplets of water dripped from her muzzle as her tongue ran across her lips to catch any remaining droplets before losing them to the earth. This place appeared to be a frequented watering ground, she gathered from the numbers animal marks in the dirt surrounding the pool, many of which were hoof marks of equines. This was promising, she had not seen another equine in a while and certainly not met one in these new lands, it might be worth trying to gain information from another more accustomed to these lands. She helped herself to one more quick drink before setting off again in walk along the side of the lake; she hoped that she would eventually run into another. Perhaps they might know of her twin sister, the one who had been abandoned at birth by her parents, she had never met her enough to remember anything, but she knew she felt close to her sister and had been drawn to these lands with the hope of finally finding her. Someone surely would know, surely they would help. She stopped again and looked up to the horizon with her odd coloured eyes one as blue as the water she drank and the other a beautiful purple, the sun was now clearly breaking into the new day, the mare smiled to herself a new hope filled her heart, warming her entire body. words: 553 tagged: This is open to anyone, just trying to get a feel for new character. muse: Good |
