Thick daggers carried his large frame across the pebbled shore, nares flaring in and out to drag in the cold sweet air around him. Soft snow landed upon his black and white painted hide. If it had not been for his his black markings, Roman would have fit in perfect. But knowing he stuck out like a sore thumb, had intrigued his goal in life. Survival. He lived for it, breathed it, ate, slept on it. He knew that he and he alone could keep himself alive. Even now as he watched the smaller framed mare way ahead of him he chuckled a bit at her antics, watching her dive into the water, despite the cold, and then turning around as the waters apparantly became even deeper. His black tassels tried to catch in the wind and then playfull smacked down at him, sticking to his slightly wet hide. The cold in the air was inevitable. It made him uneasy but it also put him into an excited phase. He could train more in this weather then any other weather. Sturdy pistons lunged deep into the fresh snow, clinging to him as he passed through the fluffy white. Crown raised, harks pressing forward as he spotted the mare climbing back slowly to shore. His own vision had take in the island from awhile back and he wondered what was there. Curiosity had brought him here as well. A small grin also plastered on his facade as he watched the brave little mare pull herself into the freezing water. He was suprised at this. Some others would not dream of touching liquid with this kind of temperature. On many occasions in the dead of winter, Roman had thrown himself into the freezing ices of lakes and rivers on purpose, freezing his blood to the point of almost death. But he did it on purpose. His frame, emotions, pelt, and body had been through so much he couldn't remember the last time he was kind to it. Constantly pushing, never backing down. He had honed each of skills to reply on themselves only. If he ever went blind, Roman would survive. If he ever went deaf, Roman would survive. And among many other scenarios that he indeed hoped never happened, but could never be to sure of not happening.
Stamping his front right hoof, Roman kept going, shoving the snow and finally meeting up the the smaller path entwined in the snow that the femme had left. She was not as far away now, but still enough distance away for Roman to get a feel if she was kind or mean. He had no intentions of trouble today. Snorting softly, he dipped his crown snuffing at the white powder that was starting to melt away. His attention was on the femme. Raising his large nape and crown a bit more, harks relaxed, so did his frame. He parted his vocals ever so slightly and finally allowed his presence to be known.
It is nice to see someone else out and about at this time of year.
Roman snorted softly, chocolate pools watching carefully, judging her body language and other movements. She seemed relaxed enough, just eager to get to her island. Roman allowed his frame to finally halt at the edge of the water, pools shifting to the island. It does make you wonder what is out there doesn't it? A gentle smile was place on his facade. Not much of the joking type, Roman had been working on his ability to appear who he truely was. So much survival skills constantly running through his mind, calculating every move, every possible choice of every scenario he was in, had made him appear harder then what his soft and golden heart actually was.
