HISTORY: Aldabella was a spoiled little filly, growing up in the hooves of a bachelor stallion herd with only one other mare. But, let's rewind. Bella's birth mother was a cocky little thing, a Quarter Horse with a lot of heart, yet a lot of pride shoved down her throat. She was confident that once she was pregnant, she could raise the baby alone and didn't need a stallion to help her out. So, once she was sure it was getting close to time to deliver, she made her way up to the mountains where she felt safe, and laid down to have her foal. All seemed to go well, the baby was born a healthy filly with a lot of spunk to her. But, this is when the tragedy struck. With no fit horse to protect the exhausted mare, the blood that had attracted a mountain lion had no issue in killing and taking off with the mare. However, for some unknown reason - the foal was spared. Maybe the mare was enough, or maybe, it was simply just fate being on her side. Some would say the foal was as good as dead, and she probably would have been if the traveling band hadn't found her. The lead, to be exact. Usually, studs would kill such a useless little foal - but see, the lead of the band had a mare, a mare he planned to start a herd with, and strangely enough, keep the other two stallions in his band in HIS new herd until they wanted to leave.
Lucky for the filly, the lead's mate had given birth to a still-born only days before. As fate would have it,she was still producing milk and was more than ecstatic to take along the pretty filly. It was then that she was given the name Bella - after the dawn she was found under. You could say she was pretty spoiled, being the new herds daughter. She was only the second female to be in it, since well, before her it was simply a bachelor band with a mare. They were an odd little group, but more and more horses began to join, making them no different than any other herd around. Bella had a large head on her shoulders - not because she was the only crop of the lead stallion - but, because she was his first crop and the single thing that brought them all together. She held a special place in the stallions heart and had earned a spot in the high hierarchy of the herd. She was well - liked, well known, and trusted easily with her members - though she wasn't the same.
It wasn't long before the news popped that Bella's mother had died after giving birth and that she was an adopted member of the herd. She was devastated and broken. Why would someone lie to her about something so important? If they had told her maybe 2 years ago, it would have been okay, but not when she was a full grown mare. The longer she stayed after that, the more rebellious the filly got. She wanted out, to leave, to see the world, to escape the lies. She developed the nature of not wanting to trust anyone- and it grew far enough to where she didn't want to be near anyone. She could almost be considered afraid of her own species, or simply resentful to be near them. And it stayed like that. She kept excluding herself until the herd grew used to it and when the time came and she was far enough - she ran.
She ran and she never looked back
PERSONALITY: **Fiesty- Strong minded and stubborn, this young mare is ready to take on the world if she has to. She tends to be full of energy and will put up a fight to a horse ten times her size. Being on her own so often has made her stronger both physically and mentally, and she knows it. She won't give in very often and will only turn to other horses if she is in dyer need, and even then, she might cast a blind eye to them. Because of this, she can be rather unpredictable.
**Compassionate - Someday she will learn to trust another horse or horses, and she is an amazing friend to have. She can be very compassionate if you can break down those strong and well-built walls. She isn't at all stuck up to those she loves and can be a wonderful horse to have around. She will always put that partner first and never betray them.
**Loyalty - Another thing about the mare that is very strong on her nature is loyalty. Even though she has been shown it broken in the past, Bella is built on her loyalty to others. It takes a lot to earn her as a friend or even a lover, but in the end, she is one of the most loyal horses you will ever meet. She would jump mountains and fight bears just to protect her friends and herd from enemies, and you won't even have to tell her to do it.
**Fast- With her Thoroughbred father, Bella is a very fast running horse. She may not be able to hold this quick speed for a long period of time, but she can be fast when she needs to be, and she uses this to escape other horses as well as predators.
**Strategic- Living on your own for a long period of time, one has to learn how to figure things out in different ways. This has made it so that Bella can easily come up with a tactic for just about anything. From escaping an enemy or finding food in the harshest of winters. If you need a good plot for something - Bella is your girl.
**Dauntless- Being free without rules for the majority of her life and then being like a princess when she was in a herd, Bella tends to be rather dauntless. She likes to be a little rebel and push the boundaries to the limit. She knows the line between being daring and being stupid. She knows how to behave under certain situations, but don't be surprised if she is standing up to someone who she should be submitting to.
**Lacks Trust - While you can trust her with pretty much everything and anything if you are in her friend circle, she will not trust you for a long time. Ever since she was just a two year old, she is terrified to put her trust into any other horses and pretty much refuses to. Even when she starts to feel that wall breaking down into trust, she panics and runs, because running is what she has always done best.
**Prideful- This trait isn't as bad as it could be. However, Bella is a little bit full of herself. She knows she fast, and she knows she's pretty, and if she feels threatened or trapped, she WILL use them to her advantage. This is strictly her defensive mechanism and is not to be mistaken for arrogance.
**Sassy/Sarcastic- With a bit of a sharp tongue, Bella tends to crack jokes that others may find rather offensive or just flat out rude. Because of this, she is very blunt and straight-forward with thing. She won't sugar coat it for you and chances are she won't even give you a warning. Sure, she is a good friend and she will be there for you, but don't expect her to give you the nice and easy lie to make you feel better. She is more the kind of horse that will give you the painful truth and then force you to do something fun to get your mind off it. Simply because that is not the way she works.
