U R R E Z K O there was a time when a moment like this wouldn’t ever cross my mind. the sun will rise with my name on your lips, cause everything will change tonight.
The air was hot, and sweat began to pool beneath the thick ebony tresses that dangled and twitched along the onyx mare's nape. Golden occulars moved slowly but attentively in their sockets while aureate-rimmed audits swiveled and pricked up at every sound. It was an open field, trees surrounding the place on nearly all sides. It seemed as though she had finally arrived somewhere with a bit of potential. The frames of several equine dotted the landscape, and a wicked grin came to the small mare's visage as she thrashed her inky whipcord at a pest on her flank. "Finally, somewhere worthy of me," the goddess cooed, her voice feminine but strong. There was a rhythm to her words, a sing-song trill that poured forth from her kissers. Gilded nares flared and took in a heavy breath before the mare's lithe bodice leapt forth into a fierce gallop, sending grass flying every-which-way. She purposefully tried to make an entrance, hoping someone in this vast expanse would notice her clearly gorgeous form and approach her. Urrezko belted out a triumphant whinny, smiling a bright and inviting smile, ready for anyone and everyone to come and see what she was all about.
Come on, come on. I'm here! Come to me! The black angel thought, already frustrated that she saw no heads turning, no whinnies in return. She slowed her pace to a canter, holding her head high, keeping her tail aloft, displaying her beauty to all who might spare it a glance. She cantered all the way to the tree line, and no one had bothered to approach her. Maybe they just couldn't catch up. The small mare's blackened chassis slowed to a halt and she stepped, leg over the other, to face back out toward the field. She had gone a very long way without stopping, and even if she didn't realize, she was exhausted. Heavy breaths flowed from her nares and parted maw, and sweat dripped down from her nape onto her legs, forming onyx stripes down her frame. The shade of the trees was just a few steps away, but she stood in the light, watching for anyone she could meet, anyone who might be curious about her. "Damn," she heaved, "That was a lot of work." The ebony-pelted oracle let the world fall silent around her, and after a few moments of deliberation, decided to take a few elegant steps backward into the cool shade of the trees.

L O K A S E N N AI said I'd never let you go, and I never did.Amid some of the trees along the edge she stood, shade covering her body as the sun stretched upon the expanse of the meadow. Her own black coat blended with the darker green background, obscuring her outline for those at a distance. She lounged quietly, listening to the songs of the birds as they flew to and fro. This was her second day here in this strange land, and aside a short visit to the beach she had encountered nothing outside of the ordinary. In an expanse of green, she partly missed the salty air, the intense blue of the ocean. Here was a sea of emerald, beautiful yet so ordinary and common. The air was lacking of the salty smell, the sticky feel. At least here, her presence was not quite so obvious. She quietly observed all of the horses that stood about. Some waded along the watering hole, taking comfort in the cool water beneath the summer sun. Others grazed contently on the grass along the meadow. Senna searched for someone to catch her eye, someone to do something interesting. Bold. Lo...they ate grass. Repeatedly. Step...and graze. Or swim, in reference to those by the water. Aside from the idle chatter of small talk and the boisterous laughter of foals, there was nothing really to be seen. She puffed out a discontented sigh with her boredom as she leaned against one of the trees, the bark scratching pleasantly and gently at her side as she lounged in the earthy smell of the forest border. At least it was quiet, here... Or it was. Her attention was peaked as a distant thundering reached her ears. They twitched to the side as her eyes widened slightly with attention, her head turning slightly to the source of the noise. A black figure raced across the expanse of the meadow, blades of grass flying in its wake. It was another equine, a female by the stature. The silence was broken by a shrill whinny, reaching her ears sharply even at a distance. Senna arched one brow as she regarded the spectacle. 'Making an entrance, are we?' thought Senna with a monotonous tone to her mind. This mare, whoever she was, was loud. Incessantly so. As the black mare came closer, her form became easier to decipher: ornate in her golden markings, from head to toe. Senna inclined her head downwards to regard her own golden features...much more subtle, not quite covering as much of her body as the other mare's. 'Hn. Twinsies,' thought Senna sarcastically as she vocalized a single quiet chuckle. She watched as the mare finally came to a stop, her breaths coming in heaves as she fought to regain her rhythm. Senna regarded the sweat beading beneath the mare's mane. 'All for naught, I see. Tired now, are we?' At least it was a break from the monotony of this meadow...ah, why not. She would have words with this mare. After all, there were only two possible outcomes: civil conversation, or quite uncivil bickering. Either one was appealing...actually, more so the latter. She did enjoy riling another up. In steady, easy strides Senna approached the tired mare. She didn't rush, she was not cautious, nor did she eye the girl with wonder. She looked rather at ease for someone approaching a strange mare. " Going for a run, I see. Good exercise," said Senna as she slowed to a halt before the mare. " I believe you've drawn the attenton of the meadow entirely, what with your battle cry, and all that." Senna afforded the mare a short nod with a slight smirk. " Although I must say, I approve of your colors." The girl could take her banter as offensively snarky, or humorous, or...well, whatever way she wanted. Senna's onyx tail swished idly behind her, shifting her weight to rest her hindlimb in a posture of lazy ease. It would do her well to become acquainted with someone in this land, even if it was just to acquire information. Who knows...perhaps someone here would have seen Sitara. The chances of that were slim, she thought with an inward tinge of sadness. How big was this world? And how small, in comparison, was one young mare. Nevertheless, she would always search, always pray, always hope. She loved Sitara dearly; she would one day find her, dead or alive. She hoped desperately for the latter.

U R R E Z K O there was a time when a moment like this wouldn’t ever cross my mind. the sun will rise with my name on your lips, cause everything will change tonight.
The gold-blooded vixen didn't notice the other onyx hellion approaching her, as being aware of her surroundings was one of her very few shortcomings (or so she thought). The small mare was still a little out of breath, and frankly quite thirsty at this point. The gold-fringed goddess parted her maw, drawing in a heavy breath onto her parched tongue. It was then that she saw the figure closing in, out of the corner of her eye. Good, someone had noticed her. Urrezko swallowed, not much saliva to spare, and straightened her stance, allowing her aureate visionaries to rest for the first time upon this future admirer. A voice poured forth, a female tone. What? What the hell was this? The blackened witch before her was also adorned in golden-hued marks. Urre was immediately disappointed, and her eyes widened, eyeing the yellowed stripes that lashed across this mare's bodice. Urre's inky whipcord lashed against both flanks, irritated that the first equine she would meet in so long would look so much like herself. She didn't feel special, and it was annoying her.
The onyx visitor's words were confusing to Urrezko. She couldn't quite place if this mare was giving a compliment or if she was lacing what looked like a compliment up with a snarky, vague insult. Urre raised a brow and stood silent for a moment after the mare finished speaking, noting her emerald green occulars. There, a difference. I don't have any stupid colors tainting my perfect form, she thought, feeling a bit more confident. She did nod to her, a sign of respect hopefully, and gave a smile of some sort, so that was progress enough. Now it was time for Urrezko to speak. Blackened locks dangled over her facade as her words flowed from ebonite kissers, a lofty tone spun about them. "Ah, yes, exercise is good. I didn't think of the heat, though. Now I'm drenched in sweat." The golden-eyed vixen gave a small laugh and a bright smile to her guest, letting a small pause fall between them before continuing, making sure she was choosing her words wisely, but not too wisely. "We seem to be birds of a feather, you and I!" Urrezko motioned with her crania to the other mare's breast, where her stripes nearly met. "I'm Urrezko. It's a pleasure miss...?" She left her sentence open for this green-eyed abomination, a cheap replica of herself almost. Urre's aureate orbs were wide, bright, and inviting as she waited for the blackened witch's voice to come forth once more.

L O K A S E N N AI said I'd never let you fall, and I always meant it.Senna couldn't help but chuckle as she regarded the mare's expression. Clearly, she had not expected her mirror image to come. Well...not quite mirror. Resemblance, nonetheless. She looked to the lady's physique with her comment; she had indeed worked up a sweat. " Mm. Yes, hate it when that happens," drawled Senna, her lips a flat line as she settled quite easily into the short pause between the two. She was not an awkward individual, quite comfortable in navigating through conversations. She just...preferred not to, usually. It required effort, movement...words. Senna was a notoriously lazy mare when the situation was not dire. She maintained her physique with the needed amount of exercise, but otherwise she strolled along and relaxed, observing her surroundings. She was a bit of a horse watcher, taking in the words and actions of others. She was an inquisitive soul, and thought it interesting the number of quirks possessed by each individual. The air of confidence woven into the mare's tone was not lost on Senna. Apparently this lady's quirk was a strong self-assurance. She was a pretty thing, Senna would hand her so much. She was flashy, but tastefully so. Not quite Senna's taste for herself, but she could appreciate a delicate ornateness. Still, she wasn't overtly impressed...on the other hand, it would take nothing short than single-handedly rescuing equine kind from destruction to stir her admiration. If some supernatural soul did manage, she would be even more hard-pressed to show it. She had a reputation to keep, you know. As the mare exclaimed their likeness in form, Senna took another moment to observe the female's markings. There was more gold, it seemed...but they were not quite markings. They almost looked like healed wounds, but they were...well, they were gold. Strange, and different. Interesting, though. In reply, her eyes drifted downwards...to her own feet, regarding her own golden bands before again drawing upwards...to the mare once more, all in a sluggish motion as if comparing for herself the similarities. Her mouth formed a tight-lipped smirk. " Two golden mares. The world will be effectively humbled at our hooves." She brought her gaze to the mare's eyes, and closed her own as she shrugged, releasing a rueful sigh and continuing in a subdued tone. " Ah. Your eyes are golden. They will inevitably like you better." She opened her eyes again to bring her focus back to the girl after her introduction. " Lokasenna. Likewise, I'm sure," she replied before letting her eyes drift out into the meadow. She gazed into the direction from which the mare came for only a second before returning her attention back to the lady. " If you will forgive my...unabashed curiosity, what is it that brings you thundering across the plains in the break of day?" she asked offhandedly before switching her weight to another side. A cool breeze blew from the side, brushing the strands of her black forelock across her eyes. She tilted her head to move her tresses to the side of her face, allowing her gaze to wander all around. It really was a nice day, despite the heat. In the shade, anyway...she could not imagine the comfort of those who stood in broad daylight.

Urrezko noted the flat, seemingly bored tone that was emitted from the other onyx-pelted mare's vox. The emerald-eyed hellion gave a smirk and spoke again, and Urrezko could feel an uneasiness within herself. She smiled a bright and kind smile anyway, listening to the mare speak. She was a bit annoyed by the sigh that the other mare emitted, as if Urre herself was boring her. The aureate-striped mare commented on Urre's golden eyes, and a wicked smirk splayed across her maw as a small chuckle emitted from her parted kissers. No shit they'd like me better, she thought. The wench gave her name and looked out into the meadow, and Urrezko looked out as well, watching the tall grasses sway in the light wind. She didn't notice when Senna turned back to her, mesmerized by the ocean of grass beyond the trees' shadows.
Urre's calm expression turned slightly irritated, but she would never reveal her true reason for making such a prominent display of herself upon the meadow. What an idiotic question, the golden-lashed goddess thought. The golden-eyed witch turned her gaze back to Lokasenna, quickly morphing her expression back to a warm, friendly smile. "Oh, it's no problem at all! You're free to ask whatever you'd like," she cooed, a daintiness to her voice that she pushed forth purposefully in order to hide her annoyance. A cool breeze washed over the two then, bringing some welcome relief to Urrezko's sweat-soaked pelt. "Though it may be hot as hell, it's such a beautiful day. I just couldn't resist having a little run!" She looked lovingly out toward the field again, a warm smile plastered upon her gold and blackened kissers. She looked back into the greened irises of her new friend, thinking of an equally bullshit question she could ask.
Her inky whipcord twitched at her hocks as she spoke. "And what brings you to this lovely meadow, Lokasenna?" A boring question, one this already bored mare would hopefully detest. Urrezko wouldn't reveal how new she was to these lands just yet. The 'horrors' that 'plagued' her in her birth herd would also have to wait. She didn't want to have to play the pity card on this mare if she didn't have to. Urre did genuinely want to know a bit more about this wench, though. Maybe she had some good connections in this land, and if she could befriend her... there might be rewards in store. She would have to see how it all played out. The golden-eyed oracle held her smile steady upon her maw as she waited for Senna's response. words. 433 tagged. Lokasenna muse. shitty but yay a table by ♛befera

L O K A S E N N AIf you didn't have this chance, then I never did.
Senna waited patiently as the mare continued to gaze out into the meadow. It was mesmerizing, the movement of the green against the wind. Senna couldn't blame her; she had been equally captivated by the ocean. As the lady turned finally back to her, she observed the twinge of irritation that edged against Urre's serene expression, the slight hardening of her face. Senna tended to have that effect on those who were not accustomed to her slightly caustic wit. She had become accustomed to sour looks directed her way. She was never one to be phased by negativity. Even in her small herd of the past, she had been known for her steeled composure in all sorts of less than pleasant situations. Now, she had another reason besides just being generally unaffected...it was for her peers' protection, really. If she allowed them close, they could meet the same end as her younger sibling. She felt her insides clench unpleasantly as she recalled the scene, a sharp but familiar pang prodding at her heart as she expertly kept the feelings from reaching her expression. No, she could not allow another to become close. She could not handle the loss of another loved one. Her solution? No loved ones, of course. Keep everyone at arm's length. She could not even protect Adelphi; she could not protect anyone. It was better for others not to depend on her, or to trust her. Better for her, and better for them. She watched the ease of the shift between irritation to a bright grin, and mentally chuckled as she listened to Urre's reply. At this, arched one brow in a sardonic expression, her face silently conveying, 'really?' However, her expression then eased into a light smirk as she spoke, her tone holding a note of amusement. " Duly noted. I will strive to come up with more of them." No...no, she wouldn't. As Urrezko glanced back out into the meadow, Senna took this moment to let her gaze stretch beyond the mare to a two foals that frolicked a distance behind her. They played in a mock battle, their limbs flailing towards each other as laughter erupted from their lips. Their mothers watched on just beyond them, smiling as if sharing a joke as they chaperoned their foals' rough play. Again she was reminded of her childhood. ' It seems I can't escape these memories,' she thought with a bitter touch of disdain. Everything reminded her of them, in any location. Her attention was drawn back to the mare as she inquired of her own reason for being here. Ah, here was where her "lovely" personality came into play. A cheerful grin spread across her black lips as silent laughter touched her emerald eyes, genuine as she answered the mare in a light tone, " For reasons, of course." Yes...she was infuriating, she knew. It was on purpose. She liked finding the buttons of others, and then pressing said buttons. She wished there was a deep motive for it...sometimes there was. Perhaps one day it would serve her well to know what made others tick. Although, truth be told, she just found it funny.
