It all happened so fast. One second Memory was pregnant and so excited to have a child of her own, forgetting the fact of how the child came to be. And the next, the body of her child that she carried for the many long months lay lifeless on the ground. Memory did everything she could to get the foal to move but nothing seemed to bring the lifeless body to its feet. Tears streaming down her face as she wept. All she wanted for the longest time was to see her very own child and now seeing it before her on the ground, a stillbirth, made her stomach churn. What had she done? What had she done to upset the gods so much that they would curse her with such a painful thing such as this?
It was a question she has asked herself for some time now. Memory had lost count of the days or weeks or even months it had been since that horrible day. Sure, she wanted nothing more then to forget that day and never think of it again but that was impossible. It was engrained into her mind. To this day Memory still blames herself. She still asks herself what she could have done that would have caused such a horrible thing. She was so careful, she was sure of it. Maybe she was just not meant to carry children, which even in itself brought tears to her eyes again. Just the thought of not being able to have such a child made her heart even heavier. It was the one thing Memory wanted most.
But Memory had heard talk of a place among the lands that you could go and possible see those of whom you had lost. This had sparked her interest. Maybe then she could even ask the frail body of the infant she lost. Look her in the eyes and ask her why she left this earth so soon. Ask her if this was all in the Gods' plans for her. So many questions began to stir in her mind. But would this really even happen? Was this all just rumors that had spread and had began to make one giant story that other would pass down to others? At that moment, the cremello mare did not care. She had to try. There had to be answers and if there was a place to get them, maybe that was the place to start.
Memory knew she was drawing near when the sight of stones sticking out of the ground showing where bodies were laid to rest at one point in time. It left an erie feeling in the pit of her stomach as her long slender legs carried her cream body deeper into the hall of the dead, what a creepy name that was.. The mist that filled the air was thick but she could still see for a ways in front of her. However the grey stones were becoming silouettes in the grey mist and soon were blending in. She was soon surrounded by grey. The sky was a grey as well. All in all the place just left her feeling even more sorrowful then when she first was. Regret began to fill her heart. Maybe this was a bad idea to come here.
