C A D E N I'm gonna let you bleed for a little bit I'm gonna make you beg, Make you wish you hadn't said goodbye Winter had faded, leaving behind no trace of it's former hold over the land. A towering figure trudged through the still warming air of morning. Wind shuddered gently through the trees which harbored the great beast. Somber thoughts of time plaguing the beast's mind as he pressed forward. Toward the impressive sounds of the sea that dared to caress the edges of these boundless lands. The stoic features of the aging equine came into obvious view as he strolled over the peak of a small knoll. The wind swept violently through the expanse of hills, whipping sand, and debris wildly. Harsh blue eyes squinted in an attempt to keep his eyes free of debris, but also to buffer against the sun's reflection upon the water's surface. The hills cascaded downward into a beach. It reminded the beast of his former travels to the desert. He'd met quit the individual there, and had felt himself judged based upon his duties. Caden seemed a bit disheartened lately, his old title which held so much power, and weight was now slightly laughable. It made him almost regret accepting it. If only for the fact that he abandoned his friend, Carnage. Left him long behind, and lost touch. Novelty, and even Wyvern seemed to distract him long enough however. Sentiment too left to blaze his own path in life. Caden was at least content enough that he had escaped the horrible nature of his homeland. Now, here he was alone. Unwilling to break his mask to anyone, but he was lonely. Had he been trained differently, maybe he would've shown emotion. Caden felt resentment, and bitterness instead. Wishing for the days where he was revered for being a great soldier. Even with his strong opinions, and desire to be just. Caden sighed heavily as he allowed the sands to shift him downwards toward the sea. The cry of sea birds captured his attention, standing at the shores and staring out into the vast horizon. Times like these made him miss having a companion at his side. "So foolish. The things we put first, and deny that they will hurt us later. Weak." He muttered into the sea breeze. The bitter tone of his voice seeped through, and it seemed this is the closest anyone but family would get to see to his true emotion. Sentiment held his heart, and he swelled with pride for his impressive son. Wicca too, he approved of her even i his own rude way. Caden plopped his rump upon the ground, in an attempt to bring back that happy feeling, the memory still fresh in his mind. Watching the waves crash into the shores as he sat in wait for the rise in tide. |
