A Second New Beginning [Rosa & Iscariot]

Femme pranced in the warm sands, the air was still cool but it was a comfortable feeling with the cool waters washing up every now and then dampening the sands below each step causing them to sink lower under her weight. Her gate was interrupted by her injured back right leg, it had a good sized cut on it from her run in with Flame, a very… interesting equine that she had helped out. It was healing well but still needed some time and she wasn’t about to lose her strength in that leg in addition to the cut, so now she chose to exercise it and where has better scenery than the sandy cove? The spongy sand added a buffer to help ease the pain of the weight being pressed on the injured leg, and the sounds of waves and seagulls distracted her mind even further. She tossed her crown and shook her banner out, it streamed out beside her, it’s long cords pirouetting in the constant rush of wind as she advanced ever forward.

She had come back to this land to start a new life, she was older now and had her children all grown so she left her previous partner to find a new adventure as he left her under mutual agreement. She missed raising her kids with him, however she believed that there was more of life out there that she could discover. Her first experience not being that of pleasure, but it was real and she did have a new connection. Let’s see what else new out in this mystical land. Ivory daggers came to a halt, a shock of pain came from her back leg as she lifted it to relieve the aches that radiated along her hock. She lowered her arch to the cool waters and took her fill before advancing into the sea waters, going only knee deep to wade in the clear waters.

He moved, effortlessly, somberly, with the grace of the wind that soared above the auburn mold of his body. And though he glided across the sand with an elegance that was as poignant as it was handsome, within there was an entirely different story to be told. Iscariot ached, deeply. The man had indoctrinated himself into a cult of anguish; each passing breath filled with staggered grief - and to the world he might seem entirely inhuman. An alien that had fallen upon this Earth without a single grasp on happiness, or what it might mean. But the truth was that long ago, he had shared the world's slice of wonder and joy; long ago he had been surrounded by smiling faces, family, safety ... now it was all gone, and only the shell of his past life remained. 

Iscariot dreamed too much of the past. It plagued him, incessantly, and without hope he could not move on from his demons - whenever he closed his eyes they were there ... waiting. Severina, Rhaegar, Ruhm; dying in the flames, melting. He often wondered what his sons would have grown up to become, or whether he and Sev would have had anymore children; a girl? It was all a physiological form of torture that he could never rid himself of; Isc just could not move on. Perhaps it was the guilt that weighed him down the most ... knowing he had led them toward the forest, knowing he'd shown them the door to death. The fatal decision would haunt him forever more. 

Lingering on these beautiful shores weren't going to help him out much either. Severina had been the ocean, he had been the desert; and combined they had been majesty itself. But it was peaceful here, and it allowed his frayed thoughts to be soothed, if only for a few short moments. He limped along, the sea lapping at his hooves and his grey eyes gazing out over the expanse of blue water. What he hadn't been expecting was to come into contact with strangers, and so when the sight of a pale, feminine equine loomed in the distance, Iscariot drew to a halt. Through detached, ashen eyes he observed her ... wondering, vaguely, who she was.  But in the end he realised it didn't matter. 

Nothing mattered anymore.

It's funny how something can be the highlight of your life, and then just disappear or maybe be right in front of you and just not mean a thing anymore. Maybe you know that the thing you once protected could fend for itself, didn't need to suckle from you anymore and would be fine out in the world on its own and that it wanted it that way, wanted to be free of the shackles and chains that you, the one that cared and raised them. Brought them up and taught them about what was and wasn't dangers, who and what to trust, what to eat and what to avoid. It's funny that through all the years of fighting laughing and playing it all seems to just be for nothing, all at once. It comes to an end, a sudden stop like a head on collision. And from that point on, it's nothing but a memory. An old scar where warmth and love used to radiate and flood your soul. Nothing.

Daggers drown in the salt water, creatures swimming around to investigate the invading enormous statue. Every fourth or so coming up to actually make contact, bravery itself in the smallest way possible. Slimy seaweed wrapped itself gently on and off of her cannon bones, gliding wherever the push of the wave took them to, some becoming dislodged and being brought out to sea to go who knows where but to die or become devoured by something larger and bigger. Thoughts that escaped the mare's mind however, were that of her young and where they might be, where the world may have taken them and if it was being cruel or not. While she wished to know and her children never left her mind, she also was not blinded by the past, she kept an open mind and welcomed whatever came. Just like her thoughts of her children left her mind, she did the waters. Her legs no longer lapped with wetness but still dampened and the sound of the waves crashing was ever present in the background of her mind just like her children ever would be. For now the memories subsided and the sense of homesickness also was obliterated along with it.

Injured, the mare’s limb strived with each step to walk as well as the rest of her, to appear as normal and not wounded as possible that would mean she was vulnerable to any onlookers. Vulnerability was not something that Rosalie wore well. Something that she avoided like it was the bubonic plague, and for good reason. Her slender well maintained frame dripped the salts and liquids from their clutches falling into the sands to be soaked up leaving nothing but a ring of where it landed a ripple to prove that she had in fact past though. Her mind wondered along the coast line with her wondering of things about the future and what could, or couldn’t be waiting for her.

Alas after walking nearly the entire distance of the coast line, a figure also seeming to wonder aimlessly became visible to her pale orbs. She stopped in her tracks, trying to determine the other’s demeanor she watched as they also noticed her but did not seem to tense up or really to care very much; instead they stayed deep in whatever thoughts they were running through their mind. While it was settling to her, the thought that the equine was so nonchalant even with another in their presence, even so much as to continue on whatever boggled their mind; and this caught the mare’s attention in a curious way. She continued on her way advancing towards the figurine and when she got close enough she took in the chestnut frame, seemingly flawless and smooth. His banner was dampened with the salt of the waves, lapping up and clapping the sides of his cannon bones, rolling in one after another like a perfectly timed naturally metronome. With a slightly turned head and tassels waving back and forth with the wave of the breezes her pale orbs looked at him, and pink velveteen kissers parted exposing ivory pinchers and silk smooth tones Hello. My name is Rosalie.
