It doesn't change what's in your blood

Jarek stood in the heavily wooded area, staring with narrowed blue eyes at a large maple, his ears flat against his skull. This land was not Svrngarde. No trees like this grew in the caved meadow. And the scents were all wrong. Where was the strong scent of the dragons, the saber-tooth, the lion? This was not his home, he was sure of it. But, how could it not be? He hadn't wandered from the cave in a long time, and he had no recollection of even exploring a forest like this in his lifetime. It didn't make sense. Unless... unless the same thing that had torn him from Starwave in the first place took him again, as soon as he had become settled into his land.

Was his whole life some sick game?

With a snort of frustration, Jarek lowered his twin-horned head and pawed at the ground with his front hoof, like a bull ready to charge. He had no idea where he was, who had been pulled with him this time, or when he would be taken again. A thought bounced into his head that caused him to perk up, his ears pricking forward as he turned away from the offending tree.

Asha.

Had she been taken here as well? He couldn't catch her scent, but last time he had more or less seen her before he smelled her. If he had been taken, and she had been taken from Starwave, perhaps there was a chance that they had been brought here together? "Asha?" Jarek called out as he moved forwards at a slow trot, weaving in and out of the trees that covered the landscape, the thick canopy above shading him from the heat of the summer. Still, it wasn't long before his spotted coat became damp with sweat as he pushed himself, his speed picking up and his voice becoming more strained at the fear that he had lost her once again, and perhaps, lost her for good this time. "I'm here, Asha!" He called out again, but there was no answer. Part of him knew there wouldn't be, but he wasn't ready to admit that to himself just yet.

She was the last thing holding him down from whatever darkness swirled around him, the last thing that reminded him of his home, and lost innocence. And she was gone. And now, totally and completely alone, Jarek was lost. In both mind and body.
