This place, put him at ease. It had been a while since he had been able to feel that. Not long ago he had met up with Vy, which he was rather used to her nature. Though it was probably obvious by now he was too kind for his own good. Though, she hadn't seen him mad yet, he had no quarrels with killing or harming others. He stood near a watering hole in the dust. Lowering his head to drink up the water. After last nights rest, today they seemed to have a day off before going out to find contractors or continue their training, which would be a way to distract himself further. No one could dig into his past at the moment, not that it mattered, it was behind him after all. He sighed letting out bubbles in the water because of it before raising his head once more.

Nox's ears were alert, just to make sure he wasn't going to be jumped. You could never be too careful about being ambushed by anyone. Though he was certain others would be punished, but then again there could be some sort of weird initiation that he wanted to be informed of before it happened. So, he would be a bit stubborn about that, though the rather stoic male twisted his body around kicking up sand with his hooves. He felt his tongue roll over his fangs for a moment, something he rarely used but every once and a while he'd snag a bird. Though of course being a horse his main diet was grass lucky for him, it was never hard to find that. It was a source that never went without being seen, at least not from where he could see and go. Around here there was their little paradise for all the horses, it was an interesting place to be in.

Calm, peace, it never something that came to Vythica easily. Almost nothing had such an effect on her, save for the ocean. Something that was rarely visit, perhaps in a few days she would seek it out. It had been awhile since she had seen such a mass of water, much less being around something which calmed her more, chaotic and unpredictable behavior. Snorting as such thoughts the mare found her self not too far off from the watering hole, knowing her companion was likely doing his own thing as she stood there in the sun, staring out over the lands and as to what maybe beyond them. Her mind, always one to shift, change and wander with little direction to it self. It was a wonder how she seemed to be 'normal' most of the time. Ye those demons within always cried to be let out, to come out and play. Maybe here, they would be put to use as would her more violate skills would be. It had been almost a year since she had unleashed them upon the world or onto another, to strike and kill without mercy only to get a taste of that crimson liquid flowing beneath their skin; to tear and rend the flesh upon their bodies. Being cannibalistic hadn't been a choice, but when she had been forced to fight for food or starve it was quickly as taste she had acquired. It wouldn't of been something she would have picked up on her own, no, not if that war hadn't taken place. Alas she couldn't undo what had been done.

Those thoughts trailed off as that gaze found it self upon Nox. "Makes me wonder who's bright idea it was to use this as their home." Snorting with annoyance, she knew the sun would be harsh and unrelenting to one like her. No doubt Nox would share her own predicament at some point, but for now she was drawn to the water much like he had been. That head dipped down as those ears shifted back slightly; if any sneaked up on her they would end up with a rather nasty mark to remember her by. For sneaking up on Vythica was far from safe.

Of course, while this place was similar to his old home, it was not his old home. He could not just prance around and act as if he knew what he was doing, knew the ropes inside and out. That would take time, that would take precious amounts of time, but that was something that he could afford. Nox's thoughts were interrupted though, by the woman whom he had been travelling with. He didn't mind her company, not her nature at all. Maybe one day they would take a contact together, though she had taken on the task of being an Assassin h was fine with that. Mercenaries were ready for anything, protecting, killing, gathering, it didn't matter. They were different from the other herds, maybe that was why he liked them so much. Though her comment struck him as odd, he blinked looking up for a moment. Bright, how could an idea be bright, but he didn't say anything to further on it.

"After exploring more I came to realize there's various fields of green and water, it's an amazing place for a sand area." He inquired, assuming she hadn't yet explored it all. While these parts were dry, lower down were fields to graze on. He was certain as well that plenty of rabbits would run around. They were excellent target practice as he had learned. If it was one thing Nox was emotionless with, it was other animals. No compassion at all for them, Nox found them annoying. If they were not of his own kind, then there was no point. He shut his eyes for a moment looking at the black woman with purple upon her flank. He was far different, his blue stuck out like a sore thumb.

"Where did you live before you met me?" Nox asked. He was rather curious, and he wondered if she was curious about himself as well. It wouldn't surprise him, and he didn't mind questions. Even how much it hurt, every warrior had their past. He had given those stallions a beating of their life, he should have killed them but that would have gotten him killed. He was lucky he didn't, all he got off with was a banishment, when they had killed not one but two lives. Nox would be ashamed.

Vythica was used to the stallion, although he didn't speak much it didn't bother her. Peace was not something bad to have, then again she was more or less the one who caused the little stir ups now and then between them. It was mostly for the fun of it, rather then causing harm. Worst he got had been a scratch from her, then again those fangs were awfully sharp. Taking in long droughts of the water before her, the mare was not at all impressed with these sandy desert-like lands. The night time it seemed, at least here would be her best ally compared to the day time. It was nothing she could do about it, but it looked like if she was to be here being more nocturnal would be a requirement. Mainly to avoid the heat, rather then the day light for it did not bother her. Taking her time in enjoying the cool water, she would wait in turn for his response. Which, it seemed he was rather talkative for once..perhaps this place had put him in a good mood.

Lifting that head the black mare listened as he spoke. "Still, with no shade save for the cavern it self; it will not be a pleasant place to remain." Of course speaking about the heat, it would undoubtedly be unbearable for her self given any length of time she remained within it. Not that she was going to go foolishly rolling around in the water here, not when it was obviously a rare resource and one needed by the ones staying here. Strange, she wondered if they were even called a 'herd' but she doubted it. Perhaps after doing whatever the ones sought of them to join, she could go else where and make that her more, permanent area to remain within. It would be something she'd have to do and ask about, if they were forced to remain here or were allowed to reside else where.

His question caught her a bit off guard, those ears flicked a bit uncomfortably. "A place I will never forget, yet one that I cannot call home either." A bit of a cryptic response perhaps, but she wasn't going to be too forth coming with details about her past. "As for where I came from; I do not remember." That was a truth, she couldn't recall or remember the name of the lands she had been so violently forced from. It was perhaps for the best, but she did look him over once more. "Where did you come from?" Not that she expected much of an answer from him, for she had given nothing in return.

Interesting, she did not wish to share. That wasn't anything new though. There were pasts, and there was information in the past best left forgotten. It made him close his eyes, his ears swiveled a bit. Would she become a friend or an enemy, he wondered, yet so far she had given him no reason to dislike her. It wasn't as if her scratches didn't hurt, but he understood the urge even if only a little. Sinking his teeth into the flesh of those who plain pissed him off, it was something he was no stranger to. He opened his eyes again and nodded his head. Nox supposed that this was also a bad place to live, but fact was, they lived here and there wasn't much they would change about that. Wait a minute, why was he saying we? It wasn't as if she was bound here by him, forget it. It was an old habit that had crawled up on him from when he had been around Terentius. After all, he had no interaction with other horses until now at least. Vythica had been the first.

"I see" he stated for a moment. Trying to think, what sort of answer should he giver her. There was also the question of whether she was interested or not. After all, would he be wasting breath If she would just walk away in the middle of his talk. "I was born in a herd where they taught men to be killers." he stated stepped back towards her. He decided right then and there, that she was a friend. It didn't matter her habits, nor where she came from. At this point if anyone harmed her, they might as well have a dragon breathing over their shoulder. His lime green eyes stared at her, it almost seemed like he was being a little stalker.

"I've decided, you're a friend." he mused. Perhaps she'd hurt him, that'd be okay, but the leader probably wouldn't be happy with that. His bright blue tail flicked in the moonlight, he nearly looked like he was glowing. Though save for the fact she looked like the same thing.
