Icc box posts by Txep with Thalia and Trin with Crixus, continuing in a full thread. Setting - summer, ethereal meadows, extremely hot and humid before a summer thunderstorm.
Thalia - The reverse zebra striped smokey black doe gingerly peddled her way through the meadows, her pelt damp from just the heat of summer beating down on her. breathing was laborious in the starch humidity for this time of year. The black overcast of clouds several miles away with the current beaming sun made a perfect mixture of overbearing humid heat to endure. Least it seemed by nightfall there would be rain for relief. Till then Thalia continued to huff and gasp for breath through strained burnt black nares. Her gut grumbled pleading for food, more than enough surrounded her in this plentiful meadow, yet she refused to eat. Afraid of taking someone elses share of food. She'd hate to see the lush grass wasted on her if it could nourish another instead. So instead she sought out a muddy patch in a trail and dug at it with a chipped hoof. Deep enough till there was roots to nibble on. Snuffing her muzzle into the gritty earth Thalia found the least nutritional and least important food source to fellow equines of this time of year. It was never enough to sustain herself on, yet her body was so use to being so gangly and skinny it'd probably seize working if she actually fed herself a full gut of grass.
Crixus - The Dunalino roan overo stag pressed forward the heat burning his flesh but still he continued on. He finally returned home since he was a young bronc and now he felt the need to explore. seven foot
tail moved lazily back and forth as his dark orange with sea foam flecked orbs scanned the terrain before landing on a beautiful stripped minx. A small grin made its way to his lips, as he pressed on. Crix watched for a moment as she ate the roots, the stag could only wonder, why her frame was sunken in as if malnourished. His smile faded from his lips then. His movements were swift as he approached her. A few feet between the two he called out, "Hello, why do you not eat the grass?" He raised his dome then his lion like mane made the heat worse, but he fought it off. The beast's horns looked like crosses on top of he cranium. He was quiet then as he studied the mare.

Her muzzle was sufficiently buried rather deeply into the dirt she had been digging at, teeth gritty with soil grinding between them as she nibbled on not so delicious roots and accidentally catching a worm or other bug every so often in her bites. Dainty hooves just caked with the dirt as she racked the chipped iron once again at the patch of turned up earth. Snorting and sneezing as the fragments of dirt filled her nasal cavity, tickling and scratching inside, having to huff and snort pretty hard to clear them out before pressing her snozz back into the earth to pick at more uncovered earth. The reversed striped fae was so consumed by digging up food in this over bearing heat she never heard the approach of another, so consumed she jumped like a field mouse. Tripping backwards in her scare, dirt cascading from her lips as her bright golden pools so wide they looked like they'd pop out of her gaunt featured facade.
Nares flared in distress of even harder breathing as her tiara quivered looking over the brute suddenly before her, knees shaking from the fright yet almost instantly her audits rolled back against her nape. Lowering her dome below his and lightly clicking her teeth together, the classical sign of a foal being submissive and pleading for the superior adult not to harm them, yet she was a full grown mare doing this. Thalia's body coiling up with her tail wedged between the creases of her rear, slumping her shoulders and over all just looking like a whimpering scared dog in a corner. "ppp..please.. I'm sss..sorry... I... its a waste... if I eat... the grass." Her stammering evident as she grimmaced at the feel of the gritty dirt grinding between her teeth as she spoke. "Others need it... more than me.. I can't let it be wasted on me." Thalia couldn't look him in the eye or even the face in general. Her timid gaze just stayed on healthy full irons, her brows perked a little curious seeing a long tail sway behind the brute. His sheer mass and regal look made her shutter even more being in his presence.
"Sss... sir.. I.. I'm not worthy to.. be around you... I mustn't taint... the atmosphere.. you breath.. " Thalia stumbled even more on her words, tears welling up in her eyes, unable to stand she was disrupting this majestic male's personal space even with how far she had withdrawn. Jerking her head from side to side looking behind her, all the ivory striped doe knew now was she needed to vacate the area so she wasn't a burden anymore on this brute's attractive appeal. There was no way something so pathetic looking could complement him, she needed to stop tarnishing it. The roots meant nothing to her at this point, even with her gut grumbling with need of food, the timid soul ducked her tattered beret once more as she pivoted sharply away from the bloke. At first taking a few stumbling unease steps before jerking into a hasty trot, heading towards a small hill in the meadows she hoped to disappear behind, she couldn't stand it, she was not worthy to share the same air as this other individual and she wouldn't plague him with such a thing. She didn't look back in fear.
