Alabaster limbs, tiny they were, moved at a brisk trot across a grassy field. This field was one that grew lush and green in the duo-earthed terrain of Antioch, the Altus royal land. Bethesda's young mind had no care for the fact that she was now a Princess, born to a Queen. Her life was all blue sky and warm sun, and she trotted, her little legs carrying her bay bodice across the sea of grass to where her father stood: not a royal himself, but a King in her eyes. He was strong and big and powerful, and Bethesda looked up to him and saw him as a role model, more-so than anyone else, even her three uncles, who were much larger and stronger than Ozymandias. "Father!" the filly exclaimed with a girlish giggle and a wide smile. Her innocent, cerulean orbs gleamed and sparkled with the light of the sun that reflected from them, and at that moment, the world was completely peaceful.

A darker-coated sister strode to the fillies' dam, Famine, at about the same time. Dinah was almost the opposite of the ethereal and giddy Bethesda. She was heavy-tongued and harsh sometimes, but Bethesda loved and cared for her regardless. Her twin was a more sinister-looking little creature, her duo-hued eyes boring glares into anyone they wanted, her dark coat as black as the night that hung over Antioch's deserts. Sometimes Bethesda feared her sister, but she knew that she would never harm her, or at least not without a good reason. The bay hadn't really formed any concrete thoughts regarding the dos and don'ts of violence, but she knew that it hurt to be struck, but sometimes one had to be struck to be taught a lesson. She also knew that lessons were important. The high-stockinged filly nuzzled her father's crimson-stained chest, feeling his familiar warmth against her face and nape, comforted by his smell. She turned a gaze toward Dinah and watched her approach and nuzzle her mother in a similar way, and the thought rolled over in her mind: She's not so bad.
