[smear:807a63]HUSH[/smear:1c9e91] & [smear:691815]SHIELD[/smear:ab6e35]
Dawn woke slowly, the sun streaming milky fingers of light into the abyssal heavens and chased away the stars from them. A chilly wind, remnant of winter's brumal wroth, whispered along through the trees and gave truth to their eerie names; a heady moan arose into the atmosphere. Mist crept along the forest floor, lapping at the crawling roots and leaping over dancing streams. Sluggish, the sun arose up to banish forth the darkness until the evening when again it would come. The day's cool start promised to warm and birds began to chime the air with their songs, giving the two slumbering stallions beneath the tree a song to awaken with. The standing hessian held stains of dark liver and tenebrous staining down from his nape along his left foreleg while inky tresses hung from his nape and hinds. The heavy caudal flicked up to shoo away an early fly from a pale hock as the stallion yawned hugely. Warm sunlight floated over his spine as his cranial tomb arose and the hessian gave his nape a heavy shake that made desultory tresses all the wilder indeed. The brute, whose name was Shield, stood nearly eighteen hands tall with a powerful form that was made for guarding the weaker and he was a stark contrast to the steed lying at his hooves.
The beast on the needle carpeted sod appeared to be mostly ivory with sienna on his spine and high on each limb - though perhaps it was the opposite. A queer assortment of markings collected about his mostly ivory visage, ebony markings crisscrossing over his pale maw and strange circular markings on his eyes. Sleepy visionaries parted to reveal brilliant pools of pale blue nearly equal to the orbs of the hessian above him. This one too yawned but absent within the maw was an oral parcel; he was mute. Dark limbs twisted to drive into the soil and he hauled himself upright. The movement had Shield shifting a bit so as to assist the younger in standing and the stark difference in height - nearly three full hands - became clear at once. Where Shield was stocky, his companion, Hush, beheld a lissome bodice riddled with minute scarring that made it clear he had borne a troubled childhood. Wholly at ease with one another, the two stallions turned hind to fore with one another so that each could begin grooming the other. It bore a silly sight, to see two full grown hessians casually grooming one another, but it helped in soothing them both. Once finished with that, Shield and Hush moved off to begin grazing to break their evening fast and fill their stomachs.count. 448
