It had been a long time since Nirvana had traveled to The Pitt on her own. Since Styx was born, she had been escorting him back and forth to spar with Achilles, Litala's son. She remembered the last time she was here alone, though, and it was not pleasant. FEAR, a now dead, but very well-known hessian, had stolen her and ordered her to report to him within The Pitt's bowels. It was an interesting encounter, and luckily, another mare had come and relieved her of the situation, taking her place there with that rapist bastard. She didn't recall the mare's name, and the was ashamed of that fact. The air was cool and quiet as Nirvana entered through The Pitt's entrance wall, quickly finding a small but well-worn path that she had tread many times in her life. She vaguely remembered when Ranjit had ruled this land, but that was ages ago, before he had become King after the Dark Triad had stepped down. Then she was reminded of that pesky Thanatos. If not for his relationship with Lashiel, Ranjit may not have been given the throne, or at least not so peacefully. In her mind, she pictured Ranjit planning to fight anyone who stood in his way, even if he did respect them. The Pitt's air grew warmer as Nirvana made her descent. She planned to come here after the new ruler, Adhemar, had gotten settled in. She knew nothing of the brute, just that he was a homeless Imperium stag who had been in the lands for enough time that he knew the general way of things. It was time to give The Pitt to someone who wasn't part of any special bloodline, and someone who Nirvana could easily knock from power if they didn't do their job. The smell of death that The Pitt was known for had become faint and mirky over the years, but there was a boneyard of sorts nearby, and the ages-old decay would thicken the air soon enough. The land leveled out after a while, and Nirvana knew she had reached the deepest valley of the land when the wind all but stopped blowing and the air was uncomfortably warm. She disliked being in this place for that reason, her heavy, curled tresses building sweat beneath their canopy, staining her orange coat brown. The Empress halted and called out for Adhemar, a whinny that echoed over The Pitt's bowl. She wondered if Alexei was nearby, as well, but who knows, that brute liked to wander. The violet-eyed witch looked all around her, seeing just how empty this place was. It was a wonder that it hadn't been overrun by predators in Litala's absence, but she was glad it had not. She imagined that Alexei was very lonely here, and commended him in silence for manning his post, keeping this land from going completely to waste. She hoped that this Adhemar would usher in a new age for The Pitt, making it a true prison for the wrong-doers of these lands. She hoped that soon he would have a legion of guards all about him, all equally interested in putting away those who decided to stir trouble within the kingdom. The brindled villainess smirked, her eyes lighting up in a pleasant but wicked sort of way. She would give her kingdom and all of the lands a few good wake-up-calls before she was through with her rule. The Empress only hoped that her heir would be as ambitious. words: 584 tagged: Adhemar muse: pretty good |
